Senior Operations Manager

Global Tier 1 Automotive Supplier Location: AguascalientesWe are representing a global Tier 1 automotive leader , recognized for its innovation, advanced manufacturing processes, and long-term partnerships with OEMs worldwide. This confidential search is for a Senior Operations Manager to join one of its flagship sites in Mexico. The role is critical for ensuring operational excellence, driving performance, and sustaining world-class manufacturing standards.The Senior Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and optimizing the daily plant operations while ensuring alignment with corporate strategy. This role requires a proven track record in operational management within high-volume automotive manufacturing, with an emphasis on Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Quality Excellence . The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing improvement projects and driving sustainable performance across production, maintenance, and support areas. Key Responsibilities Lead daily operations across production, maintenance, logistics, and quality to ensure delivery of safety, quality, cost, and efficiency targets. Develop and execute Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives , ensuring measurable productivity gains and cultural adoption of best practices. Drive operational KPIs and performance reviews, implementing corrective actions where necessary. Oversee workforce planning, training, and leadership development to ensure a high-performance culture. Collaborate with corporate leadership and other global sites on operational alignment and best-practice sharing. Ensure compliance with customer requirements, internal standards, and external certifications (IATF16949, ISO, etc.). Provide strong leadership in managing cross-functional projects related to metal-mechanics, welding processes, and related technologies . Deliver proven, documented results of projects implemented in previous roles (cost reductions, process optimization, quality improvements, etc.). Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (Master’s degree desirable). 10+ years of operational management experience in automotive or Tier 1 manufacturing environments. Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and/or Six Sigma with tangible project results. Experience in metal-mechanics and welding processes (preferred). Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills with the ability to engage at all organizational levels. Advanced English (written and spoken) required; additional languages are an asset. Strategic mindset combined with hands-on leadership style. Open to relocation within Mexico if required.
