SUMMARY The SMT Maintenance Engineering Manager is responsible for leading preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance strategies for key equipment in the electronics manufacturing area, including reflow ovens, wave soldering machines, AOI systems, ICT, and X-Ray inspection equipment. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime and efficiency by leading a team of specialized engineers and technicians, while collaborating closely with Production, Quality, and other key departments to ensure operational continuity and continuous improvement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership and Team Management Recruit, interview, and hire maintenance engineers and technicians specialized in SMT. Develop technical training and professional development plans for the team. Set clear and measurable goals for the engineering team. Evaluate team performance and provide continuous feedback. Foster a collaborative work environment focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence. Technical Management Ensure efficient maintenance of SMT equipment: reflow ovens, wave soldering, AOI, ICT, and X-Ray systems. Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans. Lead root cause analysis and resolution of critical equipment failures. Coordinate installation, relocation, and validation of new equipment. Evaluate and propose technological improvements to increase equipment reliability and efficiency. Strategic and Cost Management Develop maintenance strategies aligned with plant operational goals. Identify cost reduction opportunities through process improvements, automation, or service contract optimization. Prepare annual departmental budgets and monitor operational expenses. Participate in capacity planning and forecasting of technical resources. KPI Management and Continuous Improvement Monitor KPIs such as equipment availability, MTTR, MTBF, and preventive maintenance compliance. Implement continuous improvement tools such as Lean, 5S, TPM, and Six Sigma. Document technical procedures and ensure compliance. Promote standardization of maintenance processes across all SMT lines. Communication and Collaboration Serve as the technical liaison between the maintenance department and other functions such as Production, Quality, and Process Engineering. Clearly and effectively communicate plans, progress, and departmental needs. Actively participate in internal and external audits related to maintenance and quality. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field. 3–5 years of experience in SMT equipment maintenance within the electronics manufacturing industry. Proven experience leading technical or engineering teams. In-depth knowledge of SMT equipment: reflow, wave solder, AOI, ICT, X-Ray. Strong skills in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and interpreting electrical/mechanical diagrams. Preferred: certifications in Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, or similar. Intermediate to advanced technical English.
