The Account Manager-Transportation Market is accountable for strategic growth and support of assigned customers in the transportation market which requires familiarity within transportation, agriculture and construction, automotive, or similar OEM. This position reports to the Director of Sales.Responsibilities include developing strong relationships with customers, connecting with key stakeholders and preparing sales reports. Regular communication is critical for keeping things positive and productive, and Account Managers need an organized system for sharing information, proposing solutions and giving updates.Responsibilities:Ensure high level of support for all assigned customers and prospective new customers; gaining new and maintaining existing business with the highest possible long-term profitabilityContinuously monitor “total customer satisfaction” through formal (scorecards, key performance indicators) and informal meansOvercome challenges by proposing solutions to issues and communicating opportunities for improvement internally to effectively lead resolution of issues (quality, delivery, technical support, price)Engage in activities to enhance profitability i.e. raw material pass through, collection of obsolescence costs, terms compliance, cost reductionsPartner with Customers’ Purchasing and Engineering Groups but also maintain relationship with other Customer Groups such as Operations, Scheduling, QualityEffectively manage time between supporting current business and developing new business in complex and dynamic environmentReceive RFQs for business and follow documented procedures to gather the information necessary to provide a quotation to the customer in a timely mannerCoordinate and lead regular business reviews with key customers, requires effective preparation, facilitation and follow upProactively anticipate and resolve issues with customers or stakeholders and escalate timely to leadershipCollaborate with supervisor to develop an annual sales plan and to achieve or exceed the sales and profit targetsPrepare regular sales reports and forecast updates as necessary (requires strong Excel)Work collaboratively and strategically with ECI technical groups to develop new business opportunities and execute cost take out activities at assigned customersAid in the coordination of internal activities to support customer projects. i.e. product development, program management, operations management, customer supportLead negotiation of customer contracts and coordination of ECI internal team members following defined processHelp evaluate and improve the business systems of the Sales GroupWork independently but frequently inform supervisor of activityAble to work effectively in a home officeQualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university; technical degree is preferred by not requiredMinimum 3 years of strategic selling with strong preference for industry experience within the supply base similar to ECI; specifically in a transportation, agriculture and construction, automotive, or similar OEMStrong communication skills with ability to interface with internal and external customers in fast paced and complex environmentEffective presentation, negotiation and communication skills, both oral and writtenStrategic mindset and consultative selling approachHistory of execution and delivering resultsProven analytical and problem-solving skills; strong critical thinking skills requiredGeneral business skills including negotiation, organization, good judgement, emotional intelligence, initiative and ability to drive results with a diverse cross functional team.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and ExcelExposure to dashboards such as BI dashboards and reportsMust be willing to travel frequently (up to 20%)Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesEffective presentation, negotiation and communication skills, both oral and writtenProven analytical and problem-solving skills; strong critical thinking skills requiredGeneral business skills including negotiation, organization, good judgement, emotional intelligence, initiative and ability to drive results with a diverse cross functional teamProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and ExcelExposure to dashboards such as BI dashboards and reportsMust be willing to travel frequently (up to 20%)Primary LocationThis position is located in Juarez Chih.
