Job Description LATAM Government Affairs Director Mexico City 3M Health Care is now Solventum The Impact You’ll Make in this role Establishing, maintaining, and executing a government affairs agenda to include maintenance of a bipartisan contact network and a strategic policy communications program with elected and appointed government officials, primarily focusing on federal government officials in Mexico, Brazil, and Latin America countries. Lobbying directly on specific health care proposals and bills to influence passage, defeat, or amendment of measure, or introduction of legislation as well as a variety of regulatory issues in different countries when applicable. Drafting communications to key personnel, including executive leadership and other managers, outlining the implications of proposed and current legislation and regulations, as market development opportunities and geopolitical overview. Communicating with regulatory and legislative bodies including testifying at or drafting testimony for public hearings to enlist support for Solventum interests including business development and economic incentive opportunities. Preparing testimony, regulatory comments, and other communications intended to affect the outcome of legislation and regulations in which Solventum has an interest. Working closely with and leveraging industry associations, business coalitions and interest groups to pursue policy, legislative, regulatory and trade goals, drive growth, protect the company and raise the Health Care company’s public profile. Collaborating with the Global Government Affairs team to draft and maintain internal and external communications and manage related communication platforms relative to the company’s government relations function and corporate political action committees. Your Skills and Expertise Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution. Eight (8) years’ experience working in government, as a public servant in a relevant government department or agency, and/or as a government relations liaison with a major multinational company or industry trade association in a private, public, government or military environment. Additional Qualifications Understanding and preferably experience of Mexican, Brazilian and Latin America public health care system from a legislative and executive perspective. Knowledge of government procurement and/or regulatory liaison. Experience as senior legislative aid in a congressional office (e.g., Legislative Director). Healthcare experience. Background and familiarity with Latin America health care, environmental, trade and other legislative and regulatory issues. The ability to quickly grasp various government dynamics and address a variety of legislative and regulatory issues facing Solventum, its industry, and customers’ industries, and how these impact the company. The ability to build and maintain strong bipartisan relationships. A global perspective and the ability to understand the implications of policy proposals on the global marketplace especially throughout America’s and their implications on businesses. Knowledge on healthcare bids and tender process, direct sales and indirect sales via distributors. Proficiency in additional languages (primarily Spanish, but also English, Portuguese). Travel May include up to 50% domestic and throughout Latin America. Relocation Assistance May be authorized.
