EHS Engineer (Environmental, Health & Safety) Location: Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua The EHS Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations within a manufacturing (maquiladora) environment. This position supports accident prevention, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance, in alignment with corporate and local requirements. Key Responsibilities Conduct routine EHS audits and inspections within manufacturing and production areas. Identify workplace hazards and ensure compliance with Mexican regulations (NOM-STPS), as well as applicable corporate and international standards. Knowledge of environmental, health and safety legislation. Develop and deliver training programs for employees on EHS policies and procedures. Support the documentation, investigation, and reporting of accidents, incidents, and near misses. Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Maintain accurate records related to inspections, permits, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and EHS training. Deliver or support EHS training sessions for operators, supervisors, and contractors. Assist with emergency response plans, drills, and preparedness activities. Support continuous improvement in initiatives related to safety culture and environmental compliance. Ergonomics and safe handling of machinery and equipment. Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Environmental, Safety, or related field). Experience in a manufacturing or maquiladora environment preferred. English proficiency: 75% or higher (spoken and written). Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Mexican EHS regulations (NOM-STPS). Familiarity with ISO management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001). Experience conducting risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and internal audits. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Competencies & Skills Effective communication at all organizational levels. Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills. Proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
