Your next career opportunity with our organization starts here!About The Position We are looking for a Plant Manufacturing Enginner to join the Manufacturing directly to the Plant Manager. This position is based at our office in Tepotzotlan, México. As a Plant Manufacturing Engineer in our Lighting division, you will lead process engineering activities to optimize production efficiency, ensure product quality, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to support new product launches, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and uphold Marelli’s commitment to operational excellence.Your Responsibilities Will BeDevelop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for automotive lighting products.Analyze and improve plant layouts, workflows, and production techniques to ensure safety, quality, and cost‑effectiveness.Collaborate with product engineering, quality, maintenance, and operations to resolve process and product issues.Participate in new product introduction activities, including equipment selection, process validation, and training.Monitor key process indicators and drive corrective actions for deviations.Support deployment of Lean Manufacturing and Marelli Production System principles at the plant.Drive root cause analysis and facilitate problem‑solving sessions for manufacturing challenges.Maintain process documentation, work instructions, and training materials.Champion sustainability, energy efficiency, and waste reduction initiatives within production processes.Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards.What Qualifications You Will BringBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.Experience in high‑volume manufacturing, preferably automotive or lighting.Strong understanding of process engineering, automation, and PLC controls.Proficient in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and fast‑paced environments.Other Skills That We Would WelcomeFamiliarity with IATF 16949, or similar automotive quality standards.Experience with injection molding, assembly automation, or electronics manufacturing is a plus.Project management experience.Expectations From You In This PositionProactive Problem Solving: Anticipate and rapidly address process issues, utilizing structured problem‑solving methods (e.g., Root Cause Analysis, 8D).Continuous Improvement Mindset: Consistently seek opportunities for efficiency gains—such as improving cycle times, reducing scrap, and increasing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).Collaboration & Communication: Build strong working relationships with production line staff, maintenance, quality, and engineering colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations and effective project execution.New Product Launch Support: Play a pivotal role in industrializing new lighting products, from process design through to stable production, while meeting project timelines and cost targets.Quality Focus: Uphold Marelli’s standards of quality by driving process capability and minimizing manufacturing defects. Act swiftly on customer or internal complaints.Safety First: Champion plant safety initiatives, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and foster a culture of safe work practices.Project Ownership: Take accountability for assigned improvement projects and initiatives—including planning, execution, reporting, and follow‑up.Technical Expertise Development: Continuously enhance personal and team knowledge in manufacturing technologies, automation, and Lean principles.Documentation & Standardization: Ensure process documentation (work instructions, standard operating procedures) is current, clear, and accessible to shop floor teams.Sustainability Commitment: Maintain and improve energy efficiency in manufacturing processes, supporting Marelli’s environmental and sustainability goals.What Does This Position Offer YouFast‑paced yet supportive and high‑performing international team with an inspiring ambition to transform the future of mobility.Support in onboarding and further training that will set you up with Marelli's speed.Position Purpose Coordinate, develop, and implement improvements in the manufacturing processes of automotive lighting products, ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, and compliance with technical and industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Management: Supervise and optimize manufacturing processes (injection, assembly, painting, functional testing, etc.), ensuring maximum efficiency, quality, and safety.New Product Launches: Coordinate the introduction of new lines and products, ensuring the correct transition from engineering to production through the validation of equipment, processes, and layouts.Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement projects in efficiency, cost reduction, raw material usage, and SKUs, applying methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and KAIZEN.Technical Support: Provide technical support to production, maintenance, and quality departments, analyzing and solving process and equipment issues.Technology Integration: Coordinate the evaluation, selection, and integration of new machinery, automation, and tools positively impacting manufacturing KPIs.Standardization: Develop and update technical process documentation (Work Instructions, PFMEA, Control Plans), ensuring proper implementation and compliance.Training: Train operational and technical staff in manufacturing practices, standards, and procedures.Project Management: Manage industrial engineering projects from planning to execution and closure, monitoring time, costs, and resources.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure processes, methods, and products comply with internal and external requirements (ISO/IATF, customer requirements).Take The Next Step Together, we will drive the world towards a safer, greener, and better‑connected future.Are you ready to make your mark, shape the future of the automotive industry, and drive the growth of the Lighting business?Talk to us!
