YOUR ROLE As a Trade Legislation Specialist on our team, you’ll ensure business continuity by guaranteeing regulatory compliance in foreign trade matters, identifying when there are changes in foreign trade legislation or any other related regulation. For this, it is necessary to know the different areas (Inventories, Tariff Classification, Free Trade Agreements, Internal Audits, VAT/IEPS Certifications, OEA, CTPAT, among others) and the interaction that these have with other Areas of the Company. In your daily job you will: Proper management of resources and ongoing training of staff Coordinate the request, obtaining, and administration of legal documents from clients and suppliers Manage the One-Stop Shop (VUCEM) Collaborate with departments, working closely with other departments to ensure effective coordination and communication. Comply with company policies and procedures. Develop policies and procedures related to Foreign Trade. Demonstrated autonomy and ability to work with minimal supervision. Provide advice and support on new projects from a foreign trade perspective. Manage the internal audit program and training on foreign trade issues. Primarily responsible for responding to external and/or internal audits and monitoring them until completion. Responsible for the preparation and/or supervision of foreign trade contracts. Develop compliance and continuous improvement strategies for processes in your area and the areas with which you interact. Provide support, assistance, and compliance with requirements associated with supply chain security certifications (OAS, CTPAT) and foreign trade (IMMEX, PROSEC, RECE, VAT, and IEPS). Coordination with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance. Active participation in new projects and regulations in other countries. Participation in global GTC projects. Any other work-related activity related to your position and/or required by your immediate supervisor. YOUR BACKGROUND Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are: +5 years of experience in Customs Bachelor's degree in International Business Advanced English Knowledge of the Automotive Industry Familiarity with Mexican legislation related to Foreign Trade Advanced knowledge of AEO | CTPAT, VAT, OEA (Certified Operator) Management of internal audit programs and training Soft Skills:Critical thinking and problem-solvingTeamwork and leadershipTime management, work ethicEffective communication at all levelsEmotional intelligence and empathy at workAdaptability, and flexibility.
