Strategic Buyer

Your Job As a Buyer at Molex Guadalajara, you will be responsible for ensuring the purchase of all required materials, guaranteeing quality, price competitiveness, and on-time delivery in alignment with company policies and ERP processes. Your role will be key in managing supplier relationships and coordinating with multiple internal teams to maintain a smooth and efficient procurement operation. Our Team You will join the Global Shared Plants (GSP) division, working closely with planners, production supervisors, inventory coordinators, finance, quality, sourcing teams, and suppliers worldwide. This team is focused on delivering high-quality components and materials that support Molex’s global electronics leadership. What You Will Do Manage MRP (SAP) purchase messages including placing, confirming, pushing/pulling, and canceling purchase orders. Maintain accurate purchasing data and KPIs in the MRP system (PO Placement, Past Due, Unconfirmed, AP holds, Challenges) Follow up on raw materials from purchase order placement through quality release. Lead escalation efforts with suppliers and internal teams to ensure on-time material delivery. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal customers. Coordinate with warehouse and accounts payable teams to ensure smooth material receipt and invoice processing. Support New Product Introductions (NPI), tooling, testing purchase orders, and PCN tracking. Provide supplier training on Molex purchasing tools. Collaborate with category managers to align purchasing activities with sourcing strategies and compliance. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Professional degree. Fluent in English Experience in purchasing or procurement. Experience with ERP (SAP) execution, including metrics, follow-up, and actions. Strong problem-solving skills using tools such as Ishikawa, 5 Whys, and Kaizen. Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMPRODUCT, SUMIF). Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). Ability to work independently and prioritize in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Exposure to working with global suppliers. Knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement principles.
