Your Job As an Equipment & Maintenance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and reliability of our automated manufacturing equipment. You will coordinate maintenance technicians, lead problem-solving efforts on complex equipment issues, and actively participate in production floor meetings to drive continuous improvement. Your expertise will help optimize equipment uptime and support the delivery of high-quality products. Our Team You will be part of the OSBU division at Molex El Salto, working closely with a dedicated team of maintenance technicians, automation specialists, and cross-functional partners including the Business Unit and customers. Our team is focused on operational excellence and innovation in the electronic manufacturing space, leveraging strong collaboration to meet production goals. What You Will Do Lead and coordinate maintenance technicians during shifts to ensure effective and timely resolution of equipment issues. Monitor and report key performance indicators such as equipment downtime (DT), mean time to repair (MTTR), and mean time between failures (MTBF). Provide technical expertise and support for complex machine failures, escalating to suppliers when necessary. Participate actively in production floor meetings to align maintenance efforts with operational goals. Conduct weekly audits of maintenance activities to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards under ISO 9000. Oversee the commissioning and safe release of new machinery in collaboration with mechanical and design teams. Manage inventory of machines and spare parts, including supplier evaluation and cost reduction initiatives. Perform root cause analysis using established problem-solving methodologies (5W2H, 5Why, Pareto, Ishikawa) to drive continuous improvement. Support electrical installation layout and validation activities, ensuring compliance and functionality. Provide training and mentorship to team members on automation systems and maintenance processes. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Electronics, Mechatronics, or Electromechanical). Strong proven experience in automation or maintenance roles within an electronic manufacturing environment. Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and interpretation of GR&R & CPK studies. Competent in technical English to communicate with suppliers and understand technical documentation. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a capability to train and mentor others. What Will Put You Ahead Experience with pick-and-place machines, PVA, and dispensing machines in a manufacturing environment. Green Belt certification or similar continuous improvement training. Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and optimize maintenance costs. Hands-on experience in new equipment installation and commissioning. Familiarity with safety standards and risk mitigation related to electrical hazards and automated machinery. Additionally, everyone has individual work and personal needs.
