Safety and Sustainability Leader

Enhance Operational Excellence as a Safety and Sustainability Leader About the Role We are seeking a seasoned Safety and Sustainability professional to spearhead our EHS initiatives, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. As a key member of our leadership team, you will drive strategic planning, develop and implement best practices, and ensure regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: Develop and Execute EHS Strategies : Design and implement site-specific objectives, short-term action plans, projects, and goals aligned with our global EHS strategy. Conduct Audits and Inspections : Perform regular EHSQ audits/inspections, ensuring corrective actions are developed and implemented in a timely manner (ISO 4001 and 45001). Analyze and Interpret Regulatory Requirements : Analyze regulatory requirements and permit conditions applying to our operations, collaborating with plant management to address EHS concerns and meet all obligations. Deploy EHS Training Program : Implement the Quaker Houghton EHS training program to satisfy regulatory and corporate requirements, enhancing workforce competency in hazard recognition and EHS. Provide EHS Oversight for Capital Projects : Offer EHS oversight for capital improvement projects, serving as the SME and authority for new projects, products, and processes introduction. Coordinate Process Safety Initiatives : Collaborate with Process Safety/Operations/Engineering personnel to implement an effective process safety program, including PHA, mechanical integrity, and MOC processes. Lead Incident Investigations : Lead or participate in incident investigations, near misses, and hazard identifications, ensuring root causes are identified, and corrective actions are implemented to reduce risk and improve EHS performance. Support Corporate Sustainability Program : Contribute to the corporate Sustainability program, promoting a sustainable and environmentally sound work culture. Requirements To succeed in this role, you must possess: Strong Technical Expertise : Solid experience in environmental, health, and safety disciplines, with knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Responsible Care, etc.). Leadership Skills : Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively at all levels. Language Skills : Fluent English language skills, written and spoken at a high level. Education : Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced certification or specialized education is desired but not required.
