Network Security Specialist

Firewall Engineer Position Overview MHP Mexico, part of the Porsche Group, is seeking a Firewall Engineer to support the day-to-day operational tasks related to network security. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to gain hands-on experience working with enterprise-level firewall environments. This role involves performing basic firewall tasks, including rule/policy creation and updates based on defined frameworks. You will process firewall change requests and ensure proper documentation. Ensuring connectivity validation (e.g., verifying port availability, interface connectivity) is also a key responsibility. You will assist in the maintenance of network security configurations under guidance and create/maintain up-to-date documentation for all firewall-related operations. Additionally, you will support incident response teams with relevant information on firewall rules when required. The position requires following established security and network policies. Required Skills and Qualifications Education: · Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field (or currently finishing). Experience: · 1–2 years of hands-on experience in IT support, security, or networking roles involving firewall exposure. Skills: · Basic working knowledge of Fortinet, Palo Alto, or other firewall technologies (ideally one of the first two). · Understanding of networking and security concepts: TCP/IP, ports, VPN, routing, NAT, access control. · Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. · Experience creating structured documentation and using ticketing systems.
