Department Overview:- The Special Servicing Department is responsible for handling the Legal Collections, Bankruptcy, Wage Garnishment, and operational control inventory and serves as an oversight for the Collections Department.Overview:- As a Special Servicing, Legal Collections & Controls Specialist, you will support the Special Servicing department by performing various activities that will assist in controlling and monitoring functions maintained by the Special Servicing Department.**Responsibilities**:- Provide asset sale support to third-party- Assist in control monitoring for third-party bankruptcy and legal collections- Perform wage garnishment activities including tracking of new and old filings, file writs, file satisfactions of judgment, track, and file change of address forms (as applicable), follow unclaimed funds processes (as applicable).- Perform various control monitoring functions aligned with the Special Servicing- Participate in the Root Cause Analysis program by reviewing customer accounts to identify ways to detect and prevent customer default and provide suggestions for people, processes, or system improvements.- Develop collections education modules in alignment with trends identified from the root cause analysis and control monitoring.- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned based on strategy changes- Collaborate with team members to build and support a safe and lively environment to thrive professionally!- Participate in critical initiatives to prevent, detect and identify measures to reduce consumer- Attend and participate in Department pieces of training.Qualifications:- Minimum of 2 years of experience within Legal Collections, Bankruptcy, Wage Garnishment, and operational control inventory- Minimum of 2 years of experience within a Financial Services company- Minimum of 2 years of experience with MS Office Products (i.e. Word, Excel)**Preferred Skills**- 4-year degree from an accredited program or equivalent- Ability to analyze processes to identify operational- Ability to perform control assessments to resolve points of control as well as the risks associated with control failure.- Basic understanding of regulatory requirements that govern financial services; specifically collection practices.- Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred, but not required).- Experience working in a risk-based control environment, or on high-performing quality excellence or compliance monitoring team is a plus.- Ability to interact optimally with all levels of staff and- MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills (intermediate to advanced proficiency).- Proven record to perform under pressure and meet tight target- Effective Communication and strong organizational- Strong attention to- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality- #LI-SG1- #indCompany Overview:**ABOUT OPORTUN**- Oportun (Nasdaq: OPRT) is an A.I.powered digital banking platform that seeks to make financial health effortless for anyone.
