A Snapshot of Your Day: The Safety and Hygiene Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of safety management systems to ensure processes comply with organizational and regulatory standards. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with specific certifications and standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Responsibilities Participate in daily meetings with production supervisors and discuss recent incidents or safety concerns. Conduct plant walkthroughs to verify safety conditions and promote a zero-harm culture among workers. Develop safety programs that ensure compliance with company and legal requirements, including daily KPI verification. Follow up on root cause analysis and risk assessments, ensuring legal EHS compliance. Support global EHS prevention strategies and lead safety training sessions for new employees. Prepare safety trend reports for EHS management and respond to emergencies or urgent safety issues as needed. What You Bring Safety Engineer with a degree in Environmental, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering. Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Safety Engineer in the manufacturing industry, with experience in cross-functional teams. Possesses technical knowledge in behavior-based safety, continuous improvement, ISO 45001, Mexican safety regulations, international standards, and preferably knowledge of European safety legal requirements. Identify and ensure compliance with applicable national and international EHS legal requirements. Conduct regular plant walkthroughs to identify potential risks and verify compliance with safety regulations. Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with production lines and office areas, establishing operational controls according to the hierarchy of controls. Ensure that the maintenance program for machinery and vehicles is defined, implemented, and followed. Coordinate the Safety Program and provide technical support for related activities. Implement process changes from a Safety perspective. Handle Monitoring and Surveillance processes for operational criteria. Ensure that all incidents are investigated and detailed, and that appropriate measures are established and followed through. Lead and ensure the Training Program, with emphasis on conducting safety inductions. Conduct regular on-site inspections to identify risks and define corrective actions. Provide weekly EHS reports on new projects and change initiatives to the BU EHS Coordinator. Implement safety technology in logistics and production areas. Digitize EHS processes (EHS 4.0 digital transformation). Support the development of a Zero Harm Culture (EHS Siemens Energy). Adhere to current procedures, policies, guidelines, and qualifications of the unified management system (EHS). Intermediate English proficiency and strong skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, and analytical thinking. About the Team The Safety Engineer will report directly to the EHS Manager of the Guanajuato SE GT PR TAM GJT plant. Their main responsibilities will include developing a preventive safety culture and promoting safe behaviors in production areas. Who is Siemens Energy?
