Direct & Indirect Materials Buyer

Role purpose To guarantee the purchase of direct materials in a timely manner at the lowest cost that meets the design and quality requirements of the product, according to plant needs and global strategies.Key responsibilities1. Select and develop suppliers in conjunction with SQA.2. Design and propose national & international savings programs.3. Manage and maintain purchasing system (purchase orders, prices and suppliers)4. Manage commodities in PDW5. Manage MEX Web supplier6. Monitor Key Performance Indicators monthly: KPIs of your commodities7. Allocate suppliers and prices for quoting of new business for the company8. Coordinate and ensure procurement in the development of new projects or board sizes.9. Ensure compliance with the strategies defined by commodity Annual Budget.10. Ensure supplier base meets requirements established by the company (Legal, ISO TS 16949, ISO 14000, safety...).11. Define sources of supply for local and global strategies in conjunction with CPM/CPD.12. Develop commodity strategies for localization of raw materials13. Examine and evaluate market conditions for valuation and allocation of new business.14. Support the operation by negotiating with suppliers on schedule changes or new business launches.15. Ensure compliance with GKNM WOW and systems: Risk Assessment, Sourcing Matrix, Price Negotiation Sheets, ARSSA, Supplier Survey, 5 Year Strategy, etc.16. Collaborate in Internal and External Audits (suppliers) according to the requirement of the Quality System maintaining the system with a focus on continuous improvement.17. Establish “LONG TIME AGREAMENTS” with strategic suppliers.18. Ensure compliance with the key indicators of the area, as well as prepare reports of their commodities in a clear and timely manner.Essential Competences· BS Degree Industrial Engineering or related.· Experience in international Procurement teams in a global industrial / automotive environment with experience in Direct Materials· Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement· Fluent in English, with an international mind set.Technical Competences· ISO 14000, ISO TS· QAD or SAP knowledge.· Advanced knowledge of office software· Product Knowledge· Interpretation of Drawings and Specifications.· Problem Analysis and Problem Solving· Leadership and Teamwork· Results oriented· Knowledge of Injection molding processes, steels and greases.· Quality customer service.
