Controls Engineers - Automotive Systems

We are looking for Control Engineers that must be able toperform the design and field startup of control systemsfor automotive manufacturing. Experience in industries related to the automotive industry and electrical controls are highly desired. Demonstrated trouble shooting skills are necessary.RESPONSIBILITIES**Responsibilities**:Design of control systems on large automotive projects, from customer standards where applicableProvide expertise in the design of industrial conveyor systems in automotive assemblyReview specifications, and establish non-standard designsFollow internal and customer standardsDevelop a system layout and distribute control equipment appropriatelyReview time cycles studies and dimension switch layoutsDesign system architecture and network topologyDetail design of control panelsSpecify equipment and development of bills of materialsDesign of electrical schematic drawings in AutoCad and/or EplanLiaise with various project teams and customer representativesResearch and understand the functionality of proprietary control equipmentCommunicate effectively and ensure a consistent quality of designIssue designs as required by the project timingProvide technical support to site installation teams, and on Site startupsProvide both Customer and Standby supportUndertake projects in new sectors, knowledge of robot programming and vision systems (Cognex/KeyencQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or Electrical EngineeringWill have a minimum of 3 years relevant industry design experience with automotive conveyor systems and robot cells, including system architecture, schematic diagrams and control panel designProven design experience on (recent) large automotive projectsDetailed knowledge of industrial conveyor systems in automotive assembly, Robotic programming and Vision systems (Cognex/Keyence)**Technical knowledge, certification and skills**:AutoCAD, EplanRockwell and Siemens PLC & HMI, Mitsubishi PLCIndustrial networks (Ethernet, DeviceNet, Profinet, CCLink)Variable speed drives (Rockwell, Siemens, SEW)Technical knowledge/skills in the following is considered an asset: Ford NextGen & GVOSS standards; GM G12 & G16 standards, Microsoft Office SuiteCapable of assisting with installationDebugging PLC & HMI with no additional supportAbility to work independently and in a team atmosphereAble to travel to customer sites for extended periodsMust be fluent Spanish English TOEFL 70, with excellent oral and written communications skills
