Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.As the Country Manager Mexico and Puerto Rico will be the Highest local authority for Mexico and Puerto Rico in SH (Structural Heart). Responsible for planning, organizing, and executing all the activities in the assigned region. Identifies and recommends the short, medium, and long-term business strategies to the CALA (Canada and Latin America) Area Head & GM. Prepares and is accountable for the company’s plans and budgets. Identifies and develops business opportunities in coordination with the Area Head & GM.All local sales and marketing functions report to this function.Responsible for local and legal compliance.Manages the sale and marketing of SH products or services in the assigned region. Develops sales strategies and forecasts sales volumes for all products/services/channels in Mexico and Puerto Rico markets. Ensures the attainment of profit and operations goals.What You’ll Do- Define short-, medium- and long-term strategies for the SH (Structural Heart) division in the region, considering products, local market, investment, etc., for the achievement of business objectives, increased profit and market share. Direct team’s activities to achieve set strategies. - Identify actual and future business opportunities and support the CALA (Canada and Latin America) Area Head & General Manager. - SH (Structural Heart) Region’s P&L management, responsibility, and accountability. Responsible to lead together with region’s finance the plan, forecast, Financial reviews/presentations. - Develop and calculate a budget to meet organizational goals; forecasts future needs including human and material resources and capital expenditures; determines and establishes organizational structure and supervisory relationships subject to CALA (Canada and Latin America) Area Head & General Manager approval. - Directs and controls the activities and budget of all functional areas, product groups and/or operations. - Establish go to market strategies which could include via third parties or direct operation or others, - Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. - Makes and executes operational decisions with a strategic perspective. - Maintain consistent contact with major suppliers, key customers, industry associations and government representatives to achieve the objectives of the division - Actively seek, identify, analyze, and present new business opportunities and improvement ideas to senior management - Provides general direction to country and functional areas, groups and/or operations. - Keeps the organization’s vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action. - Demonstrates effective change leadership.- Builds strategic internal and external partnerships to further departmental and organizational objectives. - Interacts with senior/executive level management, outside regulatory agencies, government officials, customers, vendors, partners and/or suppliers. - Coordinates across functional areas, business units, and/or geographies in order to achieve company or area goals. - Utilizes technical/professional knowledge and skills to establish, interpret and execute company policies in a major segment of the company. - Develops and/or identifies new work processes that will have broad applicability throughout the company; contributes ideas for improving work processes and achieving organizational goals; investigates and solves problems that impact work processes and personnel in multiple units or departments; develops and communicates a vision for a major segment of the organization. - Active distributor management. Ensure their execution to a high degree of performance in achieving their business objectives; maximize performance using appropriate goals and KPIs - Plan and drive to work towards achieving Company’s vision, objectives as well as Division mission and strategies. - Establish territory sales plans/quotas together with local and CALA (Canada and Latin America) ’s team. - Ensure reports, business updates and other requirements are submitted timely - Recruits, coaches, and develops organizational talent. - Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives. - Creates an entrepreneurial environment. - Provides direction, coaching and guidance to personnel; evaluates performance of and assists in career development planning for subordinates. - Establish a relationship with all other Divisions inside Abbott. - Partnering with CALA (Canada and Latin America) HQ on product launches with a focus on segmentation, pricing and contracting strategies - Lead the Market Model implementation across the region. Support with the analysis and execution of main takeaways- Provide as needed information regarding market, competition, political/social/economic conditions - Mastery of Structural Heart management systems including Smartsheet, Salesforce, Power BI and other systems as designated will be required. Use these tools to manage regional business - Presence in main local and international congress to develop a strong relationship with KOL’s. - Support General Manager with specific CALA (Canada and Latin America) business requirements - Participation in local region’s BACs (Business Advisory Council) and other region-specific cross division meeting - Embrace, promote and enforce the company’s “code of conduct”. - Timely compliance with corporate/business unit required trainings.Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or equivalent: MBA, desirable - Fluency in English and Spanish required. - Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in commercial roles, including sales, marketing, and business development, with at least 5-8 years in a senior leadership or country-level role at Medical Device/Equipment arena. - Proven track record managing people in a sales environment. - Must have proven experience managing both direct and distributor markets in Mexico; experience in Puerto Rico is highly preferred. - Ability to travel 50%.Additional Qualifications- Proven financial acumen expertise in financial management and strategic decision-making to drive sustainable business growth and profitability. - Proven success in entrepreneurial environment - Strong organizational, communication and process skills to support business planning and initiatives, strategic planning, account segmentation and sales process. - Proven ability to lead a diverse team ability to challenge the status quo while still building strategic alliances/relationships within the organization and with customers - Proven ability to lead and collaborate across diverse functional teams to align strategies and drive integrated business outcomes.Apply nowFollow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
