Maintenance Repair and Operations Procurement Leader

Procurement Leader - Maintenance Repair and Operations The ideal candidate will lead the purchasing function for maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) products and services across the organization. This role combines leadership, technical procurement, and supports strategic sourcing activities to drive operational excellence. Responsibilities: Lead a team of buyers and develop tools to optimize MRO supply base, mitigate risk, manage inventory, and reduce costs. Oversee supplier qualifications, cost reduction initiatives, risk management, and ongoing performance improvement. Ensure ERP system data accuracy, lead QBRs, and support compliance across all purchasing activities. Leadership and Management: Team Development: Assist in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of MRO buyers and sourcing staff. Assessment and Coaching: Assess individual and team capabilities; implement development and succession planning. Performance Feedback: Provide coaching and performance feedback to build procurement expertise and drive team accountability. Functional Responsibilities: Business Strategy & Cost Management: Develop site-specific and global sourcing strategies to align with corporate goals. Mitigate Cost Impact: Apply financial tools to evaluate supplier proposals and drive cost transparency. Supply Chain Optimization: Lead cost reduction projects using spend analysis, market intelligence, supplier consolidation, alternate sourcing, and consumption control. Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Leadership and Supplier Negotiation: Strong leadership and supplier negotiation capabilities. ERP/MRP Systems: Proficient in ERP/MRP systems, inventory management, and procurement analytics. Sourcing Experience: Proven experience in MRO, indirect procurement, and supplier relationship management. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field required. Sourcing Experience: Experience in sourcing or MRO procurement roles required. Desirable Qualifications: Project Management Certification: Project management certification or experience is a plus. MRO Plant-Level Leadership: MRO plant-level or multi-site procurement leadership preferred.
