The position is responsible to support quoting activities for Prototype builds such as labor & tooling estimation (NRE), and to prepare the quote output file for presentation with the Account Manager and/or the customer. During Prototype preparation activities the Services Engineer will "scrubb" new Bill of materials, load BOM to EPICOR, create and maintain parts in system, aligning product revisions on EPICOR against customer documentation. When required will propose alternate parts to the customer due obsolescence, market availability, etc. The Component Engineer will serve as a back up for the Prototype Engineer, helping follow up prototype builds on the shopfloor, leading (as required), first unit validation, tooling validation, shopfloor system set-up, work instructions preparation, etc Will also be responsible for quoting and performing BOM reports as Risk Analysis (LCA) and environmental compliance reports, such as RoHS, REACH, CA65, etc. Responsabilities ■ Review the customer documentation package when a Prototype quote opportunity is received, making sure minimum documentation is available (BOM, FAB dwg, Assy dwg, Schematic, CAD/CAM (.tgz, gbr, ODB++, etc). ■ During Prototype quoting phase, is responsible for defining labor charges based on actual processes required to manufacture the product, tooling/NRE. Will prepare the quote output file by gathering labor, NRE/tooling, & Costed BOM received from the Prototype Buyer ■Responsible for calculation of consumables required during prototype build to incorporate into the quote, such as Conformal Coating, Silicone, Potting Compound, etc ■When a Prototype is awarded, the Services Engineer will load the BOM into EPICOR, creating and maintaining parts, aligning revisions, scrubb BOM in order to load purchasable parts (manufacturer's name and manufacturer's part numbers validation for active status). Customer BOM's scrubbings for part numbers manufacturer's name and manufacturer's part numbers validation for active status ■ Assistance to production and purchasing departments to find alternate components to solve lead time, quality problems or obsolescence’s ■ ECN's implementation. ■ Quotation & perform BOM analysis such as Risk Analysis (LCA) & environmental reports (RoHS, REACH, CA65, etc) using tools as Silicon Expert, internet databases, internal databases, etc. ■ When required, provide support on diverse activities within the department as Prototype/NPI builds, ECN/ECO implementation, process & shopfloor system set-up & generation of Work Instructions. Specific Knowledge: Excel (pivot tables, general formulas, vlookup/hlookup, macros) Electronic components knowledge SMT/TH & PCBA Manufacturing Processes Knowledge on Environmental Compliance regulations
