Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionJob Summary:As a Senior Packaging Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of packaging materials and systems to meet business needs in the areas of cost, quality, safety, and usability while ensuring compliance with regulations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product development, manufacturing, purchasing, regulatory affairs, and marketing to ensure that packaging designs meet customer requirements and are optimized for performance.**Responsibilities**:- Design and develop new packaging materials and systems for medical devices- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and constraints related to packaging- Perform risk assessments on proposed packaging solutions- Develop prototypes and conduct testing to validate the functionality and effectiveness of packaging designs- Evaluate the environmental impact of packaging materials and propose sustainable alternatives- Manage packaging suppliers and coordinate with manufacturing operations to ensure smooth implementation of packaging changes- Monitor industry trends and emerging packaging technologies- Stay abreast of regulatory requirements related to packaging materials and ensure complianceQualifications:- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, chemistry, or related field- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a packaging engineer or similar role- Knowledge of medical device packaging standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 11607)- Experience with package design and development processes- Proficiency in using CAD software and other relevant tools- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams- Ability to travel internationally for packaging component sourcing- Fully bilingual (Eng/Spanish)- Master's degree preferredPrimary Work LocationMEX Nogales North - Luis Donaldo Colosio BlvdAdditional LocationsWork Shift
