The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads the Manufacturing Engineering team to provide direct support to manufacturing on all products, new and legacy. Solves technical problems and coordinates additional technical support when necessary. Ensures that the team drives the company strategic plan’s goals and objectives (Policy Deployment) related to safety, quality, delivery and cost of product produced. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability in a fast-paced, growth environment. Collaborates with Lean/CI teams, Product Development, Quality and Facilities to build scalable and sustainable manufacturing capability. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manage all manufacturing engineering functions to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost goals in accordance with company policy deployment. Utilizes Lean/CI skill set to develop manufacturing processes and standard work that improve output, reduce defects, improve product quality and reliability. Benchmarks best manufacturing practices and assembly techniques. Introduces and implements new and enhanced processes and flows that improve quality, reduce cycle time and reduce cost. Functional ownership of item routings, work Instructions and process flow documentation. Supports new product development; driving Design for Manufacturing/Assembly objectives. Ability to effectively lead indirect reporting individuals Identify and participate in comprehensive cost benefit analysis to determine if components or assemblies should be manufactured in house or outsourced. Prepare and present to senior management with clear, data driven justification. Raise high risk manufacturing issues quickly, through proper escalation channels and actively formulate recovery plans. Leadership and development of a team of highly skilled and pro-active manufacturing engineers and technicians. Pro-actively identify and solve problems related to all aspects of manufacturing. Drive innovative problem-solving including value engineering, A3PS, variance reduction, and develop team’s technical and professional competencies. Qualifications B.S. Degree in Engineering or Technical Management. Masters Degree preferred. 7-10 years minimum total experience in progressively responsible manufacturing engineering, operations and technical management positions. High-Mix Low volume experience preferred. 3 years minimum of people leadership experience leading a technical team. Demonstrated experience in manual and automated assembly processes for electronic and mechanical products. Demonstrated experience in utilizing Lean and Six Sigma tool set. Solidworks experience BI and ERP experience Proven project management skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple objectives in fast paced environment. Ability to develop and motivate a technical team in a fast-paced, continuous improvement environment. Global or multi-national business experience preferred. Strong initiative and the ability to work well in a team environment. Knowledge of manufacturing process development, fixture and equipment design. Ability to travel in support of job function (xx%). Demonstrated success leading/managing launches or plant startups. Excellent bi-lingual(English/Spanish) written and oral communication skills.
