Test Automation Intern – Programming This intern role is responsible for applying entry-level knowledge of engineering principles and practices in engineering to support validation and verification of the various Chamberlain products. This role will be heavily involved in designing, sustaining, and troubleshooting test automation equipment used in testing. We are looking for candidates for two positions:Technical skillsBasic programming skills (Python, C#, Java, etc.)Understanding of OOP concepts (e.g., classes, inheritance, encapsulation) and ability to write basic scripts. Knowledge of Git for cloning repositories, committing changes and working with branches. Ability to identify issues in test scripts or application behavior and perform basic debugging.Understanding of how APIs work (rest), with basic ability to send requests and validate responses (e.g., using tools like Postman)Basic understanding of communication interfaces such as UART, I2C, or Ethernet, including how devices exchange data and how to validate communications. Knowledge of embedded systems / hardware-software interaction is a plus.Desired: Basic QA/testing concepts (acceptance criteria, test steps, bug reporting)Soft skillsAttention to detail Creativity, curiosity and proactivityEffective communicationTeamworkTime management Test Automation Intern – Mechanical DesignThis internship role supports the validation and verification of Chamberlain products by applying foundational mechanical engineering principles. The intern will contribute to the design, build, and troubleshooting of test automation equipment, including fixtures and lab systems used in product validation.Technical skillsBasic technical drawing and CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).Understanding of materials and mechanical strength for mechanical systems.Fundamentals of mechanics, engineering calculations, tolerances, and assemblies.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.Fabrication and prototyping skills: machining, assembly, and hands-on build work.Experience with 3D printing (design for print, printer operation, basic troubleshooting).Ability to use electro-mechanical tools (drilling, cutting, fastening tools, etc.).Basic use of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).Soft skillsAttention to detail Creativity, curiosity and proactivityEffective communicationTeamworkTime management
