VENTES is now seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Payroll Manager to own end-to-end payroll operations and ensure accurate, compliant, and scalable payroll processes for our growing organization. This role partners closely with People, Finance, Accounting, and external vendors to deliver an exceptional payroll experience for employees while strengthening internal controls and operational efficiency.This is a hands-on role ideal for a payroll leader who thrives at the intersection of precision, compliance, systems, and cross-functional collaboration.As our Payroll Manager, you will…StrategicallyOwn and evolve payroll operations to be accurate, compliant, scalable, and employee-friendly as the company growsLead payroll process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiativesServe as the internal subject matter expert on payroll compliance and wage and hour regulationsCompany-Facing ResponsibilitiesOwn end-to-end payroll operations for approximately 300 U.S. based employees across multiple statesPartner with People, Finance, and Accounting to ensure accurate employee data, compensation changes, approvals, and payroll reportingMaintain strong internal controls, data integrity, confidentiality, and audit readinessPartner-Facing ResponsibilitiesManage relationships with payroll, timekeeping, benefits, and 401k vendors, including UKG Ready and potential EOR partnersOversee benefit deductions, retirement contributions, garnishments, and payroll tax jurisdiction setup / maintenanceCoordinate with external partners to resolve discrepancies, implement changes, and support auditsPayroll Cycle Responsibilities (Bi-Weekly)Process bi-weekly multi-state payrolls for exempt, non-exempt, hourly, and salaried employees, including commissions, bonuses, and non-standard paymentsValidate time and attendance data, reconcile payroll prior to transmission, and process off-cycle or manual payments as neededMonthly, Quarterly, and Annual ResponsibilitiesLead monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll activities, including reconciliations, payroll tax filings (940, 941, W-3), reporting, and audit supportQualifications6 to 10 years of progressive payroll experience in a lead or manager roleExperience processing multi-state payrolls in a growing organizationStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and payroll tax regulationsExperience with UKG Ready strongly preferredCPP certification preferredAdvanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilityWorking knowledge of Google WorkspaceProven ability to manage multiple deadlines with high accuracyStrong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environmentSchedule: Monday - Friday Normal business hoursModality: Full Remote Position
