Senior Underwriter

At Starr Risk Solutions, we are looking for proactive, results-oriented individuals with strong adaptability skills for the position of Senior Financial Lines Underwriter, reporting directly to the line management. Responsibilities: - Underwrite the Financial Lines insurance portfolio for Mexico - Place facultative reinsurance in accordance with local office guidelines and local regulations. - Collaborate with country managers and managers of different business lines, such as Marine and Property, to develop marketing and cross-selling opportunities. - Create a list of target accounts and develop strategies to manage these businesses. - Meet regularly with brokers and local risk managers/policyholders. - Advise clients and brokers on products and coverage, follow up on quotes, and provide full support for administrative requests. - Provide general administrative support for the department, including managing reinsurance contracts and reporting. - Comply with the policy issuance process and ensure policies are entered into our local systems. - Prepare and update KPI reports, as well as reports on portfolio performance and trends. - Request and update underwriting information for future renewals. - Review and analysis of the wording of new coverage. Requirements: - Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience as a senior underwriter or in a similar role - Knowledge of insurance and reinsurance laws and regulatory procedures. - Knowledge of insurance business operations and processes. - Excellent commercial skills in managing relationships with key brokers. - Manage multiple projects with varying degrees of urgency. - Strong writing, analytical, project management, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills. - Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. - Proficiency in English at least at an intermediate to advanced level.
