Role Objective Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing across Mexico, the United States, and Canada by leading payroll operations, vendor management, and payroll validation processes. This role partners closely with Finance to ensure proper payroll funding, accounting alignment, and regulatory compliance, while supporting HR data integrity and reporting. Key Responsibilities North America Payroll Management (Core Focus) - Own end-to-end payroll operations for Mexico, USA, and Canada - Manage and coordinate with external payroll providers, ensuring service quality and SLA compliance - Validate payroll outputs, including audits, reconciliations, and variance analysis - Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing and payments across all countries - Oversee payroll calendar, approvals, and execution cycles - Ensure compliance with local labor and tax regulations in each country - Coordinate payroll funding and cash flow with Finance - Manage payments to benefits providers and third-party vendors - Act as the main point of contact for payroll-related escalations and issue resolution Payroll Accounting & Financial Alignment (Mexico Focus) - Prepare payroll journal entries (pólizas contables) - Calculate and manage provisions (aguinaldo, vacaciones, prima vacacional) - Perform payroll reconciliations (payroll vs accounting vs tax payments) - Allocate payroll and benefits costs across cost centers - Support Finance in employee cost analysis and reporting - Provide accurate data for IAS 19 calculations HR Data & Reporting - Ensure accuracy and integrity of employee data across systems - Maintain proper employee documentation and records - Support HR reporting needs and basic analytics (headcount, attrition, workforce cost) - Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to improve data quality and processes Requirements Education - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Administration or related field Experience - 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience in Mexico (mandatory) - Experience managing or supporting multi-country payroll (US and/or Canada) - Proven experience working with external payroll vendors - Strong experience in payroll validation, reconciliation, and compliance - Experience partnering with Finance (accounting, provisions, reporting) - Experience in regional or multinational environments (preferred) Knowledge & Skills - Strong knowledge of Mexican payroll processes (IMSS, ISR, SUA, etc.) - General understanding of US and Canada payroll frameworks - Solid understanding of payroll accounting and reconciliation - Advanced Excel skills (data validation, analysis, reporting) - Experience with payroll systems and HRIS (ADP, Workday, UKG, etc. preferred) Competencies - High attention to detail and accuracy - Strong ownership and accountability mindset - Ability to manage multiple payroll cycles and deadlines - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - Effective communication with cross-functional teams and vendors - Ability to work under pressure in a multi-country environment
