Automotive Mechanical Designer (On-Site at Client Location) We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support in the development of advanced automotive lighting systems. The engineer will work on-site at the client’s facilities, designing headlamp components and assemblies using CATIA , ensuring compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong CAD expertise, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams integrating mechanical, electrical, and software systems. Responsibilities Design & Development Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CATIA, applying advanced GD&T principles. Design lighting components and assemblies, ensuring manufacturability and alignment with specifications. Analyze 3D models and drawings from external sources to assess engineering feasibility. Generate and maintain documentation such as design specifications, DFMEAs, issue logs, test plans, and technical reports. Develop clear and effective presentation material to communicate complex engineering concepts. Engineering Analysis Conduct part dimensional analysis , tolerance stack-ups, and reporting for electro-mechanical assemblies. Evaluate part designs for feasibility across multiple manufacturing methods, including: Injection molding Plastic and composite processes Compression molding Die-casting Stamping Vibration and ultrasonic welding Collaboration & Support Work closely with electrical engineers, software developers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration. Provide expert technical support to mechanical team members when needed. Perform additional related engineering duties as required. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering . Intermediate experience designing parts and assemblies for manufacturing. Intermediate proficiency in CATIA, including creation of 3D sheet surfaces. Intermediate knowledge of GD&T and part dimensional analysis. Intermediate experience creating and reviewing DFMEA documents. Experience in interior components and plastic injection processes (preferred). Basic arithmetic and strong engineering fundamentals. Automotive lighting experience is a strong plus. Understanding of mechanical–electrical integration in complex automotive systems. Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. High attention to detail and quality. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly. Collaborative mindset and willingness to support multidisciplinary teams. Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced engineering environment.
