Supplier Development Engineer

Position OverviewWe are seeking a Supplier Development Engineer (SDE) to support supplier qualification, development, and performance improvement across global sourcing activities. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure supplier capability, quality, and cost competitiveness. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Supplier Qualification & Audit • Conduct on-site supplier audits (e.g., VDA 6.3) to evaluate quality systems, manufacturing capabilities, and technical readiness • Identify gaps and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with suppliers • Support supplier onboarding and qualification processes APQP & PPAP Management (New Program Launch) • Monitor supplier development activities throughout APQP phases to ensure timely execution • Lead PPAP submission review and approval, including Control Plan, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and Cpk data • Ensure suppliers meet project timelines and quality requirements Supplier Development & Continuous Improvement • Work closely with suppliers on-site to identify production bottlenecks and process risks • Drive implementation of Lean manufacturing and process improvements to enhance FPY and on-time delivery • Support cost reduction initiatives through local sourcing, material substitution, or process optimization Cross-functional & Global Collaboration • Collaborate with engineering, quality, procurement, and manufacturing teams across regions • Support development and management of global and localized suppliers (North America, Southeast Asia, Europe, etc.) ________________________________________ Qualifications • Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering (Mechanical, Automation, Materials, Telecommunications, or related fields) • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or engineering • Fluent in English (written and spoken) • Familiar with manufacturing processes such as welding, casting, coating/painting is a plus • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a cross-functional environment
