**Molding Maintenance Leadership Opportunity** The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with injection molding machines, tooling systems, and automated auxiliary equipment in an automotive or high-precision manufacturing environment. This role involves ensuring maximum equipment uptime, reliability, and performance while supporting continuous improvement and preventive maintenance initiatives. A successful candidate will have strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills, as well as proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals. Key Responsibilities: Lead troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of molding equipment including injection molding machines, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, robotics, hot runners, and chillers. Supervise and mentor maintenance technicians in best practices for molding equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Ensure proper installation, alignment, and validation of new molding machinery and tooling. Collaborate with Process Engineering and Production teams to identify and resolve chronic equipment and tooling issues. Analyze downtime and maintenance data to identify trends and drive root cause corrective actions (RCCA). Manage and maintain documentation including maintenance logs, repair records, equipment manuals, and maintenance SOPs. Support mold/tool changeovers and assist in tool maintenance, cleaning, and repair strategies. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, electrical/mechanical codes, and internal quality standards. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for complex repairs, rebuilds, or upgrades. Work in coordination with other departments to improve plant-wide productivity. Create and manage new projects for capital investment, human resource and new equipment requirements, or additional tooling to support operational or replacement requirements. Attend TCB (Technical Change Board) meetings. Ensure the development and implementation of continuous improvement projects in the manufacturing process to reduce waste. Provide regular communication with the Department Manager and provide immediate feedback concerning potential failures/obstacles to achieving established goals. Provide design and/or tooling feedback to suppliers. Attend training and applicable workshops. Any other activities as deemed appropriate by the Department Manager according to the needs of the company. Provide support to the quoting and Design department to identify, define and make estimates for new projects in terms of process and equipment required. Apply the Gentherm Value creation system. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical training with strong relevant experience. Minimum 5–8 years of experience in molding equipment maintenance (especially injection molding) in an automotive or manufacturing setting. Strong understanding of OSHA safety requirements and lockout/tagout procedures. Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Familiarity with molding machines from OEMs such as Engel, Krauss-Maffei, Arburg, Husky, or similar. Knowledge of hot runner systems, mold temperature control units, and automated material handling systems. Working knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), sensors, and robotics is a strong advantage.
