Who are we looking for?As a Purchasing Specialist you have the opportunity to attend to all material requisitioners in the Alpha Monterrey Plant, addressing their daily purchasing needs whether they are inputs or consumables, as well as services; contacting national and foreign suppliers to obtain different quotes that favor cost control and guarantee the acquisition of the best goods and services.Manage and monitor purchase orders to ensure compliance with delivery deadlines or timely detect changes that may jeopardize the purchasing cycle, developing and planning alternative supply sources to avoid stockouts. What will you be doing?Contact national and foreign suppliers, external and inter-company.Plan alternative sources of supply, identifying changes that represent risks in the procurement cycle. Coordinate the gathering of information from new suppliers, submitting the request along with all the documents in Address Book Req for creating a supplier number in the Purchase Req Americas system from Lotus Notes. Analyze and create price comparisons ensuring that the quoted products meet the company's standards and purchasing policy to control or reduce costs. Process purchase orders in the JDE system after approval, releasing the flow of printing and sending the document in PDF format to the Suppliers. Check that the information contained in the purchase orders matches the quotation, verifying the acceptance process by the Suppliers. Record the shipping confirmations from the Suppliers in the purchase calendar starting from the receipt confirmation, capturing the delivery dates provided by the Suppliers. Prepare a weekly report of the open purchase orders in the JDE system following up on the shipping confirmation calendar. Informs and updates internal clients on the status of each purchase order, contacting suppliers in advance to ensure compliance with the delivery dates promised by them. Interprets the specifications of the Raw Material Code Book in the Lotus Notes system, validating that the Quality Certificates of the chemical products meet the acceptance requirements in the Quality policy to authorize the shipment of each purchase order. Obtains the shipping documents for each purchase, managing the use of each one with the relevant departments: Quality Laboratory, Process Engineering, Warehouse, and Logistics with the aim of integrating the workflow and ensuring the timely receipt of materials. Promotes to the Manufacturing team the management of the optimal performance of raw materials by monitoring the average monthly consumption of each item over the last three months. Periodically distributes letters and newsletters by sending emails to suppliers to raise awareness about the importance of continuously improving communication and the provision of information that makes the purchasing process successful. Updates the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) file for chemical materials by requesting these documents from suppliers at a determined frequency. Provides feedback in the JDE system regarding the Suppliers database, adjusting delivery times annually or whenever notifications of changes are received so that Planners can generate purchase orders with accurate data.Who are You?Bachelor's degree in Business, Administration, International Trade, or Industrial Engineering or related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Purchasing, (preferably in manufacturing companies) Proficient in the use of Windows software (MS Office).
