The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the sale of the organization's product and services in a specified region, major geographical area or customer base. The RSM grows new business in new and/or existing customers by focusing on opportunities that are in the identified vertical markets and are of the right revenue potential. Must be able to hunt and win new accounts, at the same time as maintaining and growing share of existing accounts. In addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning and technical development of products and services. *Key Areas of Responsibility and Essential Position Functions: 1. Manage revenue and profitability of territory and/or account base: 2. Research customer needs and develop application of products and services. a. determine market strategies & goals for each product and service b. obtain & coordinate data & information from staff & member groups c. research and develop lists of potential customers d. conduct market research to determine customer needs e. provide information to other ECM and regional staff f. evaluate product & service marketability in terms of customers’ technical needs g. follow up on sales leads and develop leads h. maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets i. establish & maintain industry contacts that lead to sales j. work with Customer Service Representatives and other ECM staff to establish a communication path with the customer to ensure sales opportunities for products & services 3. Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales professionally and expeditiously. a. develop sales and marketing proposals (i.e. Quotations) for customers on technical products & services b. develop and present technical presentations & workshops for customers and / or staff c. maintain up-to-date awareness of activities, industry trends & government regulations d. make regular sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads e. close deals & finalize contracts
