Senior Interior Design Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Interior Design Engineer to lead the development of plastic components for automotive interior and exterior systems. In this role, you will drive high-quality mechanical design using Siemens NX (3D/2D), creating assemblies, detailed drawings with GD&T , and ensuring manufacturability through strong DFM application and knowledge of plastic materials and injection molding processes. You will support the full design cycle from concept to documentation, bringing a proactive mindset, strong technical judgment, and teamwork skills. You will also guide and validate Jr. Engineers’ work , ensuring accuracy, compliance, and first-pass quality. Activities: Leading interior design activities with minimal supervision. Performing structural performance evaluations using Altair SimSolid (basic CAE). Reviewing Jr. engineers’ outputs and design hours. Providing input during design reviews and managing change-control tools. Coordinating with suppliers to optimize manufacturability and cost. Participating in PDTs with GM Design Leaders (DLT) and Design Release Engineers (DRE) . Contributing to Vehicle Compartment Integration Team (CIT) reviews. Requirements: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design. Strong experience in plastic component design (interior & exterior). Proficiency with Siemens NX for 3D modeling, 2D drawings, and assemblies. Knowledge of materials, injection molding, and technical specifications. Minimum B2 English .
