Job Description: Commercial Director - Mexico This is not a position that only delegates - it requires a highly involved leader who drives execution in the field. Approximately 60% of the role is in-field work, with the remaining 40% in-office. Key Responsibilities: Define and implement the commercial strategy for Mexico in full alignment with the company's mission, vision, and leadership direction. Build, lead, and develop the sales and wholesale organization, fostering a performance-driven and collaborative culture. Expand the wholesale business through a territory model, increasing penetration into small and independent retailers while continuing to scale growth with strategic accounts. Develop and execute business plans for all current and prospect accounts, ensuring sustained growth and profitability. Lead high-level negotiations with key clients, sales agencies, retail partners, and sport leagues/teams. Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities across wholesale, multi-brand, and digital channels. Monitor and analyze performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue growth, profitability, market share, and sell-through. Research and establish commercial policies including pricing strategies, discount structures, payment terms, and delivery agreements. Partner and support with cross-functional teams (Operations, Sales Support, Marketing, Merchandising, Logistics, Finance, and Product) to ensure commercial initiatives are fully integrated and executed effectively. Oversee collection launches, promotional campaigns, and participation in trade shows or industry events to drive brand visibility and sales. Provide market intelligence and competitive analysis to influence product development and assortment planning. Build and maintain strategic, long-term relationships with key accounts and industry stakeholders. Develop accurate sales forecasts, financial plans, and business reports for senior management. Ensure operational excellence in order management, delivery performance, and customer experience. Mitigate and manage crises or problems with customers at all levels, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining strong business relationships. Candidate Profile & Requirements We are looking for a hands-on leader - someone who not only develops strategies but also leads by example in the execution of those strategies. Experience and Background: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commercial Management, Fashion, or related fields (Master's degree preferred). Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in commercial or sales leadership roles within fashion, apparel, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industries. At least 6 years in a senior leadership role managing teams and driving commercial strategy. Proven track record in leading large teams and managing complex negotiations with major accounts. Demonstrated experience scaling businesses from early stages, with in-depth knowledge of the Mexican market and a strong network of executives and key players in the sector. Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and experience in building and executing go-to-market strategies. Deep understanding of wholesale and retail sales channels, as well as fashion consumer behavior in Mexico. Must have experience in local client management and licensing business models. High English proficiency is required (both written and spoken). Experience in P&L management and strategic planning preferred. Availability for national and international travel. Ability to manage and align cross-functional efforts, recognizing the interconnectedness of departments. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a leadership style rooted in empathy, integrity, and human connection. Able to inspire, mentor, and guide teams through both strategic vision and day-to-day operational excellence.
