Role Purpose Lead and/or direct engineering resources in developing and improving processes and equipment. Achieve low-cost manufacturing, superior quality/service, and enhanced capability/capacity. Oversee operations to anticipate capacity needs and enable innovative solutions to external challenges. Establish, prioritize, and execute a project portfolio that delivers new products and process capabilities aligned with business goals. Develop and deploy technical talent capable of solving problems through advanced understanding in core technology areas. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all company procedures, policies, and safety rules. Identify opportunities and improve processes using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies; develop procedures, recommend tool changes for new and existing tools and fixtures, etc., to optimize department operations. Provide engineering support 24/7 to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring equipment and processes meet and sustain standard production outputs. Coordinate logistics and equipment selection for new products, capacity increases, and technology updates within the department. Oversee installation and initial operation of new equipment to ensure proper use, operation, and integration into the department with sustainable processes. Represent the molding engineering manager as needed. Analyze and resolve technical problems; develop specifications, plans, estimates, and engineering data to address process issues, subject to approval by the Engineering and Production Manager. Develop workmanship standards, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions, along with continuous improvement procedures. Ensure processes meet acceptable capability levels. Build effective relationships with division engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to support the plant engineering strategy. Ensure timely completion of assigned projects. Lead multicultural projects and meetings effectively. Monitor yield and propose actions for continuous improvement. Serve as a leader and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in process control, SPC, SQC, OEE, Design of Experiments, and other Performance Excellence processes (Green and Black-belt skills). Experiences/Education - Required Minimum of 5 years' experience in an injection molding environment as an engineer. Proficiency in PC skills using software such as Microsoft Office and MiniTab. Proven track record in mold validations (new, modifications) and tool improvements. Advanced knowledge and operation of various molding equipment (thermolators, dryers, injection molding machines, cranes, mold changeovers, etc.). Experience in operations and/or engineering with increasing responsibilities. Experience managing talent development strategies, including programs to attract, develop, and retain key talent. Demonstrated engineering and technical accomplishments, such as delivering sustainable improvements or significant capability/performance enhancements. Proven ability to deliver results through project and organizational leadership. Strong record in performance results and people development.
