Title: Full-time professor Field of Knowledge: Anthropology Specialty: Sociocultural Anthropology Organizational Unit: School of Social Sciences, Department of Anthropology Primary location: Universidad de las Américas Puebla at San Andrés Cholula, Puebla. México. URL: Type of contract: Indefinite contract Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits: Health insurance, pension and retirement benefits. Teaching load: 6-8 courses per year, depending on research productivity. Overview of the functions of the position The applicant will teach and conduct research and advise in their area(s) of expertise. Essential responsibilities include: ·Teach between 6 and 8 courses per year, determined by research, at the undergraduate level in Anthropology and in university-wide core curriculum courses. ·Provide academic support and advising to students; ·Coordinate and carry out academic-administrative tasks, as well as curricular planning and evaluation activities, and academic management functions, in accordance with the needs of the Department. ·Direct undergraduate research projects. Required qualifications Education ·Doctorado or Ph.D. in Anthropology ·Area of expertise : Sociocultural Anthropology Work Experience ·At least 2 years of experience and excellence in teaching, preferably at the undergraduate level. ·Experience in the design, management, and implementation of research projects in the field of expertise. Skills/Competencies Ability to teach courses in Anthropology in both English and Spanish at the undergraduate level, including two or more of the following topics: Equity, diversity and inclusion; Social problems in Mexico; Ethics, society, and the environment; Science and technology studies. Experience developing a research line related to the aforementioned topics that enable activities to support student recruitment and consulting with businesses, organizations and government. Proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and international academic environment. Proven experience advising students and fostering student involvement in research projects. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus. Languages English and Spanish, or English willing to develop Spanish skills.
