Overview This role will be responsible for managing costs, budgets, and financial planning to ensure project efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards Turner & Townsend is a global professional services company with over 22,000 people in more than 60 countries. Please visit our website: Responsibilities Conduct feasibility studies and write procurement reports Apply Value Management techniques at project outset and involve Turner & Townsend’s Value Management team where appropriate Manage estimating and cost planning activities, including taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan Manage the procurement process, implement procurement and contracting strategies, participate in negotiations, and ensure all stages (pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, bid evaluations, cost negotiations, selection and contract preparation) are performed effectively Ensure post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed, document design changes, and update budgets Ensure cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client Drive value engineering and life cycle costing; provide cost insights to support business decisions Negotiate and agree final accounts Establish and maintain professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders, liaising with the client and other consultants, reporting to senior leadership on current estimated cost vs. budget, and advising on improvements and new strategies Where appropriate, lead a cost management team to deliver the above accountabilities Staff management (where appropriate) — input into recruitment, resource management, and junior staff appraisals Knowledge management — capture key information and lessons learned into the internal database Financial management — utilise financial management systems to track margins and monthly fee/resource forecasts Process improvement — identify and act upon ways to improve internal systems and processes Review construction plans and prepare quantity take-offs, contract preparation and management Prepare and review detailed estimates and cost plans Liaise with site managers, clients, contractors and subcontractors Prepare reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and other documents Develop cost procedures Review and approve subcontractor proposals, manage contracts and change requests Review and approve payment applications, monitor invoicing, and ensure payments are in order Advise the Project Manager of anticipated cost overruns and propose corrective actions Review monthly reports from Contractors and present to the Client Travel from the office to various sites as required or be based on site Carry out tasks within your level of skill and ability Qualifications Minimum 6 years professional experience related to Engineering Cost Management Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture , or any degree relevant to the position RICS, AACE Certifications/Memberships Fluent in English and Spanish Ability to work under pressure to deliver deadlines Good communication skills to explain concepts and methodology Strong client management, change management and teamwork skills Strong Microsoft skills, specifically Excel & PowerPoint, CostX, knowledge of AutoCAD Additional Information We are an equal opportunity employer and celebrate diversity.
