This leadership role will work closely with the Legal Director and multiple business units, acting as a trusted legal advisor and ensuring legal compliance excellence across multiple countries. The role will be responsible for overseeing corporate, commercial, compliance and litigation matters while leading and developing the the legal counsel in Mexico. Key Responsibilities 1. Corporate Governance & Strategy Manage corporate legal matters, including powers of attorney and shareholder meetings. Define and execute local strategies aligned with the Group Legal Department. Provide necessary documents, reports, and information to Group Legal. 2. Contract Management Ensure the implementation and optimization of contract processes in alignment with the Latin America region. Support procurement, commercial, and industrial teams by improving contract response times. Ensure contracts are executed in the best interest of the company. 3. Business Advisory Offer proactive legal guidance across business functions including commercial, marketing, corporate finance, procurement, and manufacturing. 4. External Relations & Negotiations Communicate and negotiate with external stakeholders such as regulators, public authorities, and external counsel. 5. Labor & Employment Compliance Monitor compliance with local labor laws in Mexico. Prepare and review employment-related documentation as needed for operations. 6. Policy Implementation Collaborate with controlling and compliance teams to create and implement local policies that align with both corporate strategy and legal requirements. 7. Legal Services Management Define strategies for the effective use of outside counsel for specific projects, matters, and litigation. Oversee legal spend and drive efficiency in external legal fees. 8. Compliance & Ethics Program Develop, implement, and manage compliance initiatives, including anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, data privacy, and ethics programs. Conduct employee training and ensure alignment with local and group standards. 9. Litigation Oversight Manage litigation portfolios in multiple locations, coordinating strategies with Group Legal and external counsel. 10. Team & Operations Leadership Lead and develop the legal team in Mexico. Oversee legal operations for three legal units in Mexico in coordination with the Legal Director and Group Legal. Requirements: Law degree; Master’s or postgraduate degree is a plus 10+ years of inhouse / corporate counsel Solid experience in corporate law, commercial contracts, compliance, and litigation management. Experience in multinational companies, preferred in consumer goods Experience working with international reports Experience in managing teams Fluent in Spanish and English.
