Junior Legal Counsel – Financial Services

Forvis Mazars is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel – Financial Services! We are seeking a Junior Legal Counsel – Financial Services to join our expanding Legal Services team at Forvis Mazars Mexico. In this role, you will support legal advisory and compliance matters for clients in the financial services sector , including regulated entities such as SOFOM, SOFIPO, banks, and fintechs. You will play a key role in delivering legal support on corporate and regulatory matters while developing your expertise in a dynamic, cross-functional, and international environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with corporate legal matters, including company incorporations, minute drafting, corporate record keeping, and filings before Mexican authorities. Draft, review, and support negotiation of commercial contracts and legal agreements. Prepare and submit merger notices using EMISNET and STIV systems. Draft filings and notices for regulatory bodies such as CONDUSEF, CNBV, Indeval, and others. Support the process of obtaining licenses and submitting filings for SOFOM, SOFIPO, and other financial institutions. Stay up to date on legal and regulatory developments affecting the financial services industry. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and legal alignment with business objectives. Maintain high standards of confidentiality, legal integrity, and professionalism in all tasks. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Law +3 years of experience in corporate and regulatory legal matters, ideally within the financial services sector Advanced proficiency in English (written and verbal) Strong legal drafting, analysis, and attention to detail Familiarity with regulatory frameworks applicable to financial institutions in Mexico Proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong organizational skills Committed to ethical legal practices and client service excellence What can we offer?
