Job Title: Transmission Engineering Specialist The Transmission Engineering Specialist will be part of a collaborative team to create cutting-edge transmission designs for new projects, modifications and redevelopments on various overhead high voltage transmission lines projects. Key Responsibilities: Contribute to the design process of transmission projects from the conceptual phase through completion. Evaluate and modify transmission components to meet project requirements set by project managers. Prepare transmission equipment specifications, data sheets, Request for Qualifications (RFQ's), technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations. Perform economic conductor selection studies, lightning performance calculations, and grounding studies. Compile electrical clearance calculations based on NESC or other applicable codes and resources. Communicate interpretation and application of necessary NERC, FERC, and regional requirements and standards. Apply strong knowledge of transmission engineering concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the industry. Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers. Compile studies and reports, and write specifications. Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made in multiple CAD software. Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, pipeline, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental facilities. Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with 3 years of transmission engineering experience, consulting preferred. Master Degree in Civil Engineering with 2 years of transmission engineering experience, consulting preferred. Strong knowledge in transmission line engineering techniques and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM, Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD, and/or transmission analysis programs. Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
