Junior DRE Powertrain Engineer – Integration & Brackets Location: Toluca, Mexico (Hybrid) Experience: 0–3 years Key Responsibilities Support the design and integration of powertrain system components—engine, transmission, brackets, electrical interfaces—ensuring proper fit within vehicle architecture. Participate in CAD 2D/3D reviews (CATIA / NX) for packaging, manufacturing, and assembly validation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Validation, Manufacturing, CAE) to ensure alignment with requirements and standards. Assist in creating and assessing alternative design concepts for brackets and interfacing systems. Contribute to DFMEA, DVPR, and FMEA activities under guidance. Help benchmark competitive vehicles and support continuous quality improvement initiatives. Support cost-value analysis and standardization efforts, including reuse of validated components. Engage in design reviews, liaising across stakeholders and Tier-1 suppliers. Generate CAD models and 2D drawings with GD&T; support harness development including BOMs, eyelets, and long-lead components. Assist in root-cause analysis for pre-production or production issues in collaboration with validation and manufacturing teams. Help manage engineering change processes (CCD, CN, ICD) and track program milestones and deliverables. Requirements Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or related field. Experience (academic projects, internships, or professional) in powertrain or system integration (0–3 years). Familiar with CATIA or Siemens NX; knowledge of Knowledge-Based Engineering is a plus. Basic understanding of DFMEA, GD&T, harness design, and interface requirements. Proficient in technical English (reading and writing). Comfortable using MS Office and Google Workspace. Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and adaptability skills in a hybrid work environment. Preferred Profile Interest in hybrid/electric powertrains and emerging automotive technologies. Proactive learner with eagerness to adopt new workflows and tools. Organized, able to manage multiple tasks, coordinate with suppliers, and meet project timelines.
