The Design Release Engineer (DRE) is responsible for the design and development of automotive components for closure systems, with a focus on static and dynamic sealing. The Engineer will ensure that designs meet engineering and functional requirements, comply with design standards, and are successfully released into PLM systems. Plan and execute validation and testing activities to ensure high quality standards. Support the product development process from the initial concept phase to launch. RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, validate and release automotive products and projects. Work with cross-functional teams that include suppliers, engineering team, quality, etc. to study functionality and execute engineering changes. Provide support for 3D and 2D development of components. Interact with global teams to make vehicle design more efficient, meeting quality standards, estimated costs and functionality. Executing GD&T, Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) and root cause analysis. Participate in discussions related to planning, reduction of Dangerous Mechanical Conditions and Benchmarking. Development and validation of prototypes or components. Bill of Material development. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: BS in engineering (mechanical, aeronautical, automotive, structural, etc.). 1 to 5 years of experience in the design or engineering of Closures - Static/Dynamic Sealing DRE. Knowledge of the manufacturing processes used to manufacture the mentioned components. Experience with GD&T, (DFMEA), (DVP&R) and root cause analysis. Experience and knowledge in CAD systems (NX/Teamcenter or Catia). Proficient communication in advanced English language.
