The Field Service Technician I (FST) is an entry-level role responsible for supporting installation, maintenance, and repair of TARGAN systems under the guidance of senior technicians and Regional Service Managers. This role focuses on developing foundational technical skills, learning standard service procedures, and building the ability to troubleshoot and support equipment in the field. The FST is expected to actively learn, follow established processes, and progressively develop the skills required to become an independent Field Service Technician. Candidate must be fluent in Spanish and English, and comfortable with providing remote support when not physically on-site. Remote support is required for this role, once the machine is installed and stable. Please note, applicants cannot own birds.Key Job Responsibilities:Technical Support & LearningAssist with installation, maintenance, and repair of TARGAN systems.Support Senior and Intermediate FSTs during service visits.Learn and follow standard troubleshooting procedures.Develop understanding of mechanical, electrical, and system operations.Preventive Maintenance SupportAssist in performing preventive maintenance tasks.Learn how to identify basic wear and system issues.Follow PM checklists and procedures as directed.Service ExecutionSupport service activities to ensure machines are operating correctly.Perform basic troubleshooting tasks with guidance.Escalate issues appropriately when beyond current skill level.Customer InteractionMaintain a professional and respectful presence at customer sites.Observe and learn effective customer communication from senior team members.SRO DocumentationAssist in completing Service Request Orders (SROs).Learn proper documentation standards and expectations.Ensure accurate recording of work performed when assigned.Collaboration & DevelopmentWork closely with Senior and Intermediate technicians to build skills.Participate in all assigned training programs.Demonstrate continuous improvement and willingness to learn.Operational ResponsibilitiesMaintain tools and equipment.Follow all safety procedures and company policies.Participate in travel and support schedules as required.Education & Skills Requirements:Fluent in Spanish and EnglishBasic mechanical and electrical aptitudeWillingness to learn and develop technical skillsStrong work ethic and reliabilityGood communication skillsAbility to follow instructions and processesIntermediate computer skillsAssociate degree in Electronics, Industrial Systems, Electrical Controls, or related field preferredEquivalent experience or technical training may be considered0–2 years of technical or field service experienceEntry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude encouragedMust have a valid driver's license and a clean driving recordWorking Conditions:Work primarily performed in commercial poultry hatcheries, beginning at ~5am, with operations running 6 days per week, including holidays that fall on production daysExposure to heat, humidity and varying environmental conditionsTravel up to 20% On-call availability for emergency service support
